About us

What We Do

Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 provides volunteer firefighting services to the Borough of Conshohocken. The company operates under Station 55, along with Washington Fire Company No. 1. We are proud to provide fire prevention, education, code enforcement, and water rescue services to Conshohocken in hopes of minimizing life and property loss following nationally recognized and professional standards. Our mission will be accomplished by our volunteer firefighting force, who will safely utilize the latest technology and apparatuses with honor, commitment, and sacrifice.

Who We Are

Like any organization of its type, Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 is a direct reflection of its members. From the original group of men that met in that kitchen in 1903 to the volunteers making up the force today, we are a family dedicated to serving and saving lives in our community.

When the written charter arrived in April of 1903, the fire department showed a roster of sixty-four diverse members, and it’s something we are proud to continue today. We are bankers, police officers, students, housewives, construction workers, executives, and computer programmers. Our current enrollment lists nearly three hundred members with approximately fifty active members and a staff of thirty-three firefighters.

We are also a company of families. The fire department records reveal family names appearing from several generations. The experiences of the long-time members continue to guide the enthusiasm of the young as parents, uncles, aunts, and older brothers and sisters pass on the traditions and history of Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 to sons, daughters, nieces, and nephews.

Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 symbolizes a family coming together, united in a common cause to grow an organization that is more than a building and equipment; it is the parts of all those who have been here throughout the years, protecting the Conshohocken community and its people.

Our Legacy

To this day, our current members balance the company’s legacy with modern technology and an eye toward the future, ensuring that Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 meets its obligation to protect the residents of Conshohocken. This combination fuels the success that has enabled us to flourish and grow for 100 years and will likely continue growing for 100 more.
